More than a
quick look.
A dental check-up is a comprehensive assessment of your teeth, gums, and mouth. Most practices allocate 20 minutes for a routine appointment. At Parchment Street Dental, we set aside a full 60 minutes, giving us the time to examine thoroughly, listen carefully, and explain everything clearly.
We use 3D digital scanning so there are no messy impressions, just precise, comfortable results. We also carry out an oral cancer screening as part of every check-up, because catching anything early makes all the difference.
A full hour dedicated to your oral health, your concerns, and your confidence.

makes all the
difference.
The average NHS check-up lasts around 20 minutes. We give you three times that. Here is why that matters for your health, your confidence, and your peace of mind.
Nothing gets missed
A rushed appointment means a rushed examination. With a full hour, we can assess your teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and soft tissues thoroughly, catching anything early before it becomes a problem. Early detection is almost always the difference between a small fix and a significant one.
Your questions get answered
How often do you leave a dental appointment with questions you forgot to ask, or felt there was no time to raise? Our appointments are long enough for a real conversation. We encourage questions and take the time to explain what we find, what it means, and what your options are.
Oral cancer screening included
Every check-up at Parchment Street Dental includes a thorough oral cancer screening. It takes only a few minutes, but it can make an enormous difference. Oral cancer is highly treatable when caught early, and a 60-minute appointment gives us the time to check properly every time.
You leave feeling at ease
Dental anxiety is incredibly common. An unhurried, calm appointment where you feel listened to and well informed is a completely different experience. Many of our patients tell us they actually look forward to their check-ups, and that is exactly what we aim for.

Everything you might want to know before your first appointment. Still have a question? We are always happy to help.
We recommend every six months for most patients, but the right frequency depends on your individual oral health. Some patients may need to visit more often if prone to gum disease or decay, while others in excellent health may only need an annual visit. We will advise you personally at your appointment.
Not at all. A check-up is a gentle examination of your teeth, gums, and soft tissues. If your gums are sensitive, you may notice slight tenderness, but we work carefully and at your pace. Many patients are genuinely surprised by how comfortable the experience is.
We explain it clearly and honestly before recommending anything. You will always receive a full written treatment plan with costs agreed upfront, and there is never any pressure to proceed immediately. Our goal is to give you the information you need to make the right decision for you.
A full 60 minutes, every time. That is three times longer than the average dental appointment, and we believe it makes an enormous difference. It gives us the time to examine thoroughly, listen carefully, answer your questions, and ensure you leave feeling fully informed and at ease.
Yes, we warmly welcome children of all ages. Under-5s receive a free examination when a parent is a registered patient, and under-16s are seen at a reduced fee. We take particular care to make younger patients feel safe and comfortable, and we have a wonderful track record with even the most anxious children.
Your smile deserves more than a quick look.
